I believe in the power of healing through counselling. I am a qualified and experienced therapist dedicated to helping you achieve emotional balance and personal growth in a safe, supportive environment.
Do you find yourself feeling anxious a lot of the time? Are you confused about your next steps in life? Are you grieving the loss of someone important to you? Are you struggling to understand why you feel good for periods of time but always end up back in that familiar stuck place? Maybe you would simply like to get to know yourself better? Whatever the reason, beginning counselling can help.
Challenging events in life can throw up all sorts of difficulties and in our efforts to cope and "carry on" we can experience BIG emotions that can have an affect on our mood and the quality of our relationships and life. So, we choose our "safe" survival go to, to close ourselves off and bury what is going on, we push our true feelings down which can feel heavy and isolating.
My role as your counsellor is to meet you with warmth and compassion. I will listen to your story and work alongside you to work through any internal and external conflicts and to empower you to make sense of what you are going through.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP) I work in accordance with their ethical framework ensuring I place the best interests of my client at the forefront of my work.
Counselling can be life changing. It can enable you to understand yourself better, deal with difficult emotions, negotiate difficult past or present experiences and facilitate change in unwanted behaviours.
Counselling offers the space and time away from the demands of life to talk and be heard by someone who is objective and impartial.
I believe that each person and their experience is unique. Therefore I tailor your sessions to suit your particular individual needs.
I offer face to face and online counselling. I can also work via telephone.
I understand that finding the right therapist is paramount when it comes to sharing your story in counselling. I also know how asking for support can be difficult and uncomfortable. I will always work from a place of respect, kindness and understanding. I pride myself on being positive and focused on the unique qualities of my clients. I believe my love for what I do has a strong impact on the people I serve.
This is a nurturing client-centred approach to therapy. It is focused on fostering self-awareness and personal growth. By developing improved self-awareness and empowerment it enables exploration into your feelings, values and goals. A client-centred approach fosters a safe and trusting environment, essential for effective therapy and personal growth.

If you have a question which isn't answered below please feel free to send me a direct message via my Get in touch page, email or Whats App
Everybody is different but I believe you can benefit from counselling if you are experiencing difficulties or worries in your life. The important question to ask yourself is are you ready to take some time for yourself to be challenged by different points of view, experience new ways of thinking in order to make positive changes in your life? It can feel like a brave step to take but one which i will support you with.
For the duration of your therapy you will receive a 50 minute session.
To start with weekly sessions are advised, however, I do understand that certain circumstances mean this might be unattainable and we can discuss that in our initial chat.
The duration of my work with clients varies greatly and may be short, medium or long term, but we agree this together and I will always hold your best interest in mind.
Sometimes it might not be the right time to embark upon your therapy journey. That is okay. You might feel you are not ready and the choice to end will be yours. Through our work together we will review and check in along the way so that I can ensure what you are experiencing is benefiting your on-going needs.
Should you choose to stop I will always suggest we have a final session to tie up our time together. Endings are an important part of the counselling work and have your well being in mind.
After you have made your initial enquiry I will contact you to arrange a time that we can meet for a chat on the phone. This will take about 15 minutes. I will ask you to tell me a little bit about why you are coming to counselling and what it is that you would like to achieve. I will tell you about myself and the way that I work. This is an important part of our process so that I can make sure I am best fit to support you at this time. It is also a great opportunity for you to be able to ask any questions you might have, and most importantly decide if you feel you could work with me!
Counselling will give you a unique space for you to talk, be heard, reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings. Through this it can help you to think and feel differently from the way that you do now and empower you toward new changes that will benefit your emotional well-being.
I offer an initial free of charge, 15 minute telephone meeting. I can then gain a better understanding of what has brought you to counselling and how I can best support your needs. It will give you the opportunity to ask any questions and help decide if i am the right counsellor for you.
